1956 Elva Mk 1b Sportsracer
Imported from the UK in 1991, this Elva was given a full body off restoration. The Falcon
body was reworked for appearance and to make one side look similar to the other, before it
was repainted. The frame was repaired as needed, painted and all mechanicals rebuilt or
repaired.
It comes with a Hutton Engineering stage 4 Climax motor with 2 40DCOE
Weber carbs, points ignition, alternator and toyota starter. The transmission is a BMC
ribcase with straight cut gears. The solid rear axle is a Morris narrowed to fit with 2 bearing
Sprite racing hubs equiped with a 4.8 differential. There are 6- 60 spoke wire wheels,
mounted with Dunlop Vintage racing tires.
Included is an extensive spares package with
suspension parts, brake kits, new Smiths instruments and any original parts that were
replaced. The motor runs good but needs to be freshened as it’s had around 20 races on it,
from 1995 to 2001. The car has been in heated, dry storage since and has been started
and driven early. (too many cars to little time). I also have a spare FWA Climax motor,
stage 2, for sale separately.
$40,000 US for the car and spares.
$11,000 US for the
spare motor in shipping crate.
All Shipping Costs & Arrangements are the responsibility of
the buyer.
