Elva - Elle va - she goes! The Elva MKVII has to be one of the most beautifully proportioned sports racers of its period. Low, sleek and well balanced; along with the Lotus 23B they were highly influential in shaping the face of what was to be one of the most exciting and evocative decades of Sportscar racing.
A landmark design, 69-72 MK.7 and MK.7S were produced during the period 1963-1965. The cars were powered by a number of different engines including the Climax, 1100cc Cosworth, Lotus- Ford Twin-cam, Porsche, and the powerful BMW unit. Revered British racing driver Tony Lanfranchi proved very competitive with his works backed ELVA-BMW Mk.7S, while the beautifully proportioned sports racer was used to great effect in the USA by sports car aces such as Augie Pabst. These light and agile cars also saw great success on the European Hill Climb Circuit with Swiss star Herbert Muller finishing second in both the 1964 and 1966 European Mountain Championship in his Elva-Porsche.
