I've not seen any race results that show Bradley driving a MK V. The front of the car is almost certainly a Mk V. The back could be a MK III or MK V. Are we sure this
is a Bradley-owns Elva?

Answer received from Gary C. :

Interesting car, everything checks out at first blush.

100/55 SR Mk.III first raced 1958, so by Sept. 1961 it was a well-used car.

Bradley installed an Alfa 1500cc and raced FM in 1961. Maybe he needed bonnet clearance for the Alfa, or thought that the Mk. V nose was an aero advantage.

Wimpffen results page 144.... Driver, chassis 55, engine, car number and class all correct for RA 500 Sept. 1961

Stan Mason history 100/55 mentions "Alfa engine and ally Mk.5 type front, red

This Bradley Elva MkIII 100 / (53 or 55 need confirmation) had a great history. Starting at Sebring in 1958 Bradley / Bentley entry. Bill Bradley was from Detroit Michigan area and raced in many races around the midwest such as PutInBay, Ohio, Mid-Ohio, Harewood Acres, etc.. He did convert this MkIII circa 1959 to a Alfa DOHC 1470 cc engine and installed a new front end of his design, which was alloy and resembled a MkV along with non-Elva alloy wheels. He rechristened the car an "Elva Alfa" and ran in SCCA's E Modified Class. The conversion to Alfa Engines was a popular engine swap for Elva Front Engine Sports Racers including my MkIII 100/65 believed to be co-owned by Otto Linton and Lewis Flink converted circa 1960-61.

I think the current owner is Alan Patterson who purchased this car in 2013. I would like to be in contact with Alan and share some of this information, but do not have his e-mail nor phone number.
