  The VARA British Extravaganza

This meeting was held at the Buttonwillow Raceway in Southern California on the 4th and 5th May 2006, sponsored by Moss Motors. This event highlights many of the British sports cars that raced in the US during the 1950's and 60's. A big entry of 240 cars included just one front engined ELVA Formula Junior and five Couriers. The Junior is owned and driven by Kent Wakeford and Bud Byrnes was amongst the Courier owners in his Trojan-Elva built Mk.III. From all accounts a great weekend with the usual social fun to accompany some exciting racing.

Kent sets off in a real mixed bunch.

"These are the rear axle collets that I had made. I made a few extra. Pretty expensive [$200.00]. If you know of any one in need let me know. They are for the outer hub of a series 100 formula junior."
