Sunday 22nd May 2005 will be enthusiastically remembered as a wonderful ELVA celebration by the many who attended.
The weather was kind, the camaraderie was unique and the racing superb. An amazing collection of Formula Juniors built by ELVA roared around the tight but fast circuit, with just one interloper being the Moorland that ran with the earliest Juniors in the first race back in the late fifties.
This time it was a convincing win by Martin Walford in a ‘200’ series car which was much applauded, and later the sports racers including some determined Courier drivers, came out to pound around the narrow track with a fine win by Simon Hadfield in the Mk.8, although he had the David Brown owned Mk.7S snapping at his heels for much of the time. |
