While digging through the ELVA archives, I spotted an email from several moons ago regarding the Bexhill Museum Mk.III, yes the car with the 'WOW' factor! While not fresh news, I had been told by the always helpful Tony Mantle of Climax Engine Services that the Climax records noted that the engine number 7442 shown on the chassis plate indicated that the original owner was J. Mabon from Manchester and that the car was given the road registration number SJA 910. The engine was later replaced with Climax 7257 previously fitted in C. G. Escort's Lotus.
This reminded me of the nice images produced by Greame Jenner ... http://www.classiccarportraits.co.uk ... showing the museum car and other ELVA images.
Visit the Bexhill Museum if you are ever in the south of England .. sadly all the original ELVA workshops have been demolished due to continued housing developments in many of these south coast towns. :o
