Those who explore this website for ELVA cars being offered for sale will have spotted the BMW powered Mk.VIIS currently listed under 'Cars for Sale' within this Forum, and I thought that the newsletter being circulated by Kelly Dietrick could be of interest to those of us who like to get a feel of what is available and the asking prices ....

Dear Race Car Enthusiast,

This edition of my newsletter is for you, the race car driver. In this newsletter we celebrate some of the finest examples of racing machines this side of the Mississippi. All of my client’s cars have one thing in common – they are all race prepped and maintained by GMT Racing of Newtown, Connecticut under the watchful and professional eye of the owner JR Mitchell.
I have known JR since I sold a 1935 Bentley Special oh so many years ago that was also maintained by GMT Racing. That car went to Europe with a very happy owner. It is guys like JR, that always have the patience to explain, never think a question is too stupid and trust you with their client’s cars that make it so great to be in this business.

1962 Lotus23 A : Sports Racer
A barn find from Pennsylvania restored by Lee Chapman Racing in the 90's after 20 inactive years. All new wishbones and running gear completely gone through. Lotus 1600 twin cam with electronic ignition, billet crankshaft, billet rods and forged pistons. Drysump system, racing clutch twin Weber DCOE 40's, all in full race spec . Hewland Mk 5speed gearbox , new wheels to original specs. Car has a fuel cell, fire system, and full racing harness. Koni double adjustable shocks, Original chassis, reproduction bodywork. Car has had limited track day use the last 8 years and is offered as is. The fuel cell will need inspection along with a new fire bottle, tires and belts to be ready for competition again. Full prep, transport and support program available. Price is $135,000.00

1964 Merlyn Mk 6: Sports Racer
Former SCCA race car from California. Restored by Lee Chapman Racing for Tom Yeager and campaigned extensively in SVRA and HSR, SVRA log book. Lotus Arjay Racing Engines 1600 Twin Cam with alloy block, all steel bottom end, dry sump QED cylinder head, twin Weber DCOE 40 carburetors racing exhaust - around 190hp and 135 ft/lbs torque. Best of everything. Hewland Mk 5 speed with UJ type sliding spline half shafts. Chassis and running gear all in ready to run condition. Koni double adjustable shocks with Hyperco springs. Two sets of Panasport wheels, reproduction original bodywork, fuel cell, fire system. Sold as is, the fuel cell will need inspecting, the fire system will need service and the belts need replacing. Last run a few years ago, the car will need little not already noted beyond a general prep and check over.A full prep, transport and support program is available. Price is $110,000.00

1964 ELVA mk7s/BMW
Restored in England and imported to the US in the 1980's. Run with HSR and professionally maintained by Car Amigos. Dave Vegher 2 litre BMW M motor with all steel bottom end, electronic ignition, twin Weber DCOE carbs, dry sump, updated water pump and the best of everything. Correct chassis and running gear in excellent shape, double adjustable Koni shocks, two sets of wheels. Chassis gone through by GMT Racing in 2019, new front and rear stub axels and front hubs, everything ready to go, needs nothing. Last run Watkins Glen 2019. Full support program available.
Price is $200,000.00

1960 Lotus 18 Formula Junior
Imported by Jay Chamberlain in California. Continuous ownership history from 1982. Raced VSCCA and SVRA. Log books included. Last logbook entry August 2008.
Engine is an Arjay Racing Engines Ford 109E 997 c.c.Billet crank. Billet connecting rods,Forged pistons. Front mounted Dry-sump pump and twin row chain cam drive. Dual valve springs. Modified stock pushrods, prepped stock rocker arms with Cosworth pedestals. Twin Weber DCOE40. Lucas 2CE electronic ignition. Alloy flywheel. Racing 71/4" clutch. Renault 318 gearbox with upgraded sidebell, top cover and rear cover. converted to standard shift pattern. Fuel cell. Fire system. 6 point harness. Aluminum brake drums. Upgraded Linings. Chassis is all as original except upgrraded roll hoop with dual forward facing braces, removable rear crossmember, and adjustable trailing arms. Mechanical Smith's tachometer. Smith's oil pressure and water temp gauge and a Smith fuel pressure gauge.
Compliant with all US Formula Junior regulations. Two sets of Wheels. Spare gearbox has broken CWP. Full prep, transport and support program available. Price is $75,000.00

1969 Brabham BT-29
Engine is a Lotus twin cam L block. Twin Weber DCOE45. Displacement is 1600 CC. Billet crank. Carrillo rods. Forged pistons, Dry sump, etc. Lucas 2CE ignition system, 186hp. Gearbox
Hewland FT200 5 speed. Twin plate QM clutch. Quaife differential. Two sets of Wheels. 8's and 10's with rain tires and 10's and 12's with Avon's. Glass fiber body work. Steel tube frame chassis. Fuel cell. Fire system. Six point harness. Original running gear and Chassis upgraded double Penske adjustable shocks. Continuous history. Log books from SVRA and one from HSR. Full prep, transport and support program available.
Price is $85,000.00

1957 Lotus Eleven Series 1 Le Mans
When new it was a two-seater setup – Still have the original screen. It is believed that the original body was badly damaged so, when restored in the eighties, a completely new nose and rear section was ordered from Williams and Pritchard and it was converted to single-seater. Originally the engine was a Coventry Climax FWA (1080cc) it now has the larger FWB motor (1098cc). (dedion rear end) powered by a Coventry Climax FWB with twin 45 DCOE Weber carbs. Gearbox is Sprite ribcase. Full prep, transport and support program available.
Price is $125,000.00
