The world of motorsports has been hugely saddened at the news of the passing of Murray Walker, best known for his immense knowledge and enthusiasm as a TV commentator, particularly for the F1 fixtures, was beyond question. ELVA Racing was privileged to have been invited to enter my ELVA Mk.II (prototype) to the first Revival Meeting at Goodwood in 1998 and this included the unique ‘Dream Grid’ formation of cars that had an historic link to the Goodwood circuit, together with the drivers who were behind the wheel, and for the ELVA that was Robbie Mackenzie-Low. All the cars were formed up on the Goodwood grid, and Robbie and I were soon chatting to Innes Ireland and Tony Brooks, to then be joined by Murray Walker who was genuinely emotional at seeing all the superb cars and celebrity drivers gathered together again, bringing back wonderful memories.
A very special moment which I will always treasure ... RIP Murray and thank you.
