Shocked to read that Bob Lembcke, aka Okie, has tragically died in a workshop accident. With a long interest in vintage/historic motorsport, particularly as an enthusiastic ELVA owner/racer; a helpful knowledgeable member of the ELVA community. RIP Okie..a good friend to many.
Many owners have expressed their shock and sadness at the tragic accident which claimed the life of Okie apparently involving an exploding tyre. I had enjoyed meeting him on a number of occasions when ELVA folk attended various ELVA anniversary gatherings, but we also had many friendly email exchanges which most recently resulted in shipping Okie a new Courier badge. Down to earth but bursting with enthusiasm for his cars, Bob/Okie was always delighted to share advice and information .. he will be much missed by many for sure.
