Post Announcement …
Finally it’s time say say GOODBYE .. in a couple of months time it will be the forty-third anniversary of my first meeting with Frank Nichols and with his support, launching the ELVA Owners’ Club on the unsuspecting world. Thereafter I had the privilege to meet with very many of the ELVA ‘old boys’ plus of course to correspond with many enthusiastic owners, thus providing a good starting point for the production of the award winning book, so professionally written by Janos Wimpffen for David Bull Publishing, the project supported by Bruce McCaw and Thor Thorson of VRM.

I formed ERCL in 1986 and we undertook the authentic quality restorations of several ELVA cars, most for competition use, but the world has changed from those special times and of course none of the survivors are any younger!

So many thanks for the many friendships, our memorable trips to the States, plus the very happy times albeit tinged with sadness at the inevitable loss of some wonderful, often hugely talented, people. Adios, Rog

PS: Decisions will need to be made with regard to the future of this Forum which from the start I have financially supported with the expertise of Graham Street of Streets Ahead who has looked after the nuts and bolts. Graham has made me aware of the now ‘ancient’ technology but a serious update will require significant funds which I’m no longer prepared to cover. Now that McLaren Automotive own the ELVA trademarks including the ELVA logo, this must also be considered. I can provide contact details if needed.

Roger has been an outstanding representative for all things ELVA for more years than he has modestly stated ! We should all join in a very big THANK YOU ROGER for all that you have done for all ELVA owners .I bought my first Elva Courier YNP 255 a 1959 mk 2 in 1961 and met Roger some time later.Over all the years his knowledge has been outstanding.Best shown by whenever I have spotted something on Elva cars he has already known about it ! He has been a great friend to all of us and unsparing in giving his time to Elva Owners.
Looking ahead if it is decided to continue the web site we need a volunteer to take over.We will also need money and I would be happy to donate £200 to kick start the effort

Thank you Dan for your kind remarks and response. It has been a privilege ….
Dan did mention during a ‘phone conversation that a post he tried to submit to this forum resulted in a message stating that his message was ‘scam’ and therefore refused. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
I have spoken to website guru Graham Street who is looking into this but suspects that it might be due to a security update which should not have had this effect on the forum, but if this reoccurs then a screen shot of the offending forum page showing that message would be helpful please. Email to … grahamstreet@streets-ahead.com

ELVA Mk.III sports racer owner Stan Mason was kind enough to write these words …
Gary Cossaboon mentioned you will be stepping down from your responsibilities with the Elva website. I just want you to know how much your contribution to keeping Elva alive means to me along with keeping FGN alive. If the torch is to be picked up by someone else, would it be helpful to highlight the things that were required of you all these years and thoughts of how to make it better and easier in the future. I certainly know the obligation in organizing and leading the charge with time and passion required and can only imagine how much of your time was taken. Best Regards and Cheers for a Job Well Done!
Stan Mason

Apart from restoring the ELVA, Stan has been a longtime enthusiast/racer of an AH Sprite and has been actively involved with organising events. A charming friendly owner who is a credit to the world of vintage/historic motorsport .. a fan of IPA too!
