This car might look familiar but a new listing with a little more history ... chassis E1066
1963 Elva Courier MK3 - Butch Gilbert
Recognized as one of the most competitive and adaptive race cars for vintage, The Elva Courier is a great handling chassis, and this 1963 Mk3 has the 1800cc motor original from the Butch Gilbert cars. The 1800cc with the 1500lb chassis makes this very fun to race! Located here in the USA, we are always happy to assist with shipping from start to finish.
And...yes, many go back to the UK.
Great components with this build, rebuilt by Butch along with the 4-speed close-ratio trans in 2010. 1800cc MGB motor, Carrillo rods and JE pistons with nitrated crank and modified oil pan. Huge plus is the Limited Slip Diff! Also, in 2015 the motor was freshened with new bearings, exhaust valves, with resurfaced head, new flywheel and nitrated crank.
My seller has owned this for seven years and has also added a new Fuel Safe cell, adjustable shocks and 9" discs in front and the Alfin style aluminum rear drums.
Car has Spax adjustables up front, with AVO adjustables on the rear.
Fresh paint in 2014. Has the preferred Panasport light weight racing wheels!
Has competed at the Laguna Seca Reunion, Thunderhill Raceway, the Portland Historics and others.
Runs primarily with CSRG, noted for their compliance.
A great reasonably priced quick race car, well engineered and fun!
